We are over half way through the term and not slowing down! We are very excited to share that there has been a significant increase in attendance for weeks 1-5. We are sitting at 91% across the school with every year group in the GREEN! This means that each year group is sitting over 85%. High attendance does not just improve learning opportunities and achievement, it strengthens social relationships, increases confidence and promotes wellbeing. Thank you, families, for supporting our students!
There are very few students not sitting above the required 85% for attendance rewards - please contact the school to arrange a meeting to discuss attendance.
Thanks to those families, who came in for Collaboration meetings. Reflecting on learning and setting goals is an essential part of supporting student progress. Planning sheets will be coming home with your child. Please take the time to complete it and return them to Mrs Morris.
Many thanks to our wonderful School Community Council for another productive meeting, this week. There will be some exciting fundraising opportunities coming up, as the SCC continue to raise funds to purchase a slide for the playground. SCC Chair, Kristy Brooks, will have a chat at next week's assembly to provide an update.
We had the opporuntity to gather as a school community, a few times this week. Tuesday's Reconciliation Celebration was a chance for us to reflect on what makes our community special. One highlight was seeing Aunty Bridget, Aunty Kaye & Aunty Dot surrounded by their family's families and looking through our Library - their old school house! Thank you Mrs Golding, Aunty Sharon and all staff who prepared for this significant day.
As you know, two staff members have retired this term - Uncle Stan and Mrs Shaw. Their commitment to our school, staff, families and students has been outstanding. We thank them, we will miss them and we wish them many more exciting adventures!
I would like to wish Mrs Elwin the very best, and safest, holiday thank begins tomorrow! I'll see you in Rome!
